That is true, but I was getting confused via Gmail sorting email into 'Important' and 'Priority' tabs, etc. That made it difficult to see where the emails actually we're.

I'm glad you've found a solution to your needs, but the Gmail App on Android is pretty primitive and doesn't support multiple identities. It's a good basic option, but not a full-featured solution...
