How to use gmail as free domain email hosting

I wrote a post on this URL.

The steps,
  • get a domain name (i.e, best to register from google domains since the forwarding is reliable)
  • gat a free gmail
  • setup domain's email forwarding to gmail
  • setup sending domain email within gmail via external smtp server (i.e, ISP's mail relay)

All done.

POBox.com is another way to do this. For $20 per year the Basic service level will forward your incoming domain emails from multiple domains to Gmail and you can use Gmail to send via the POBox.com servers. Since they are now owned by Fastmail I suspect the services are just as reliable and efficient--at least they have been for me. Very easy setup.
