Valise.com to bite the dust
 

Users w/o paid subscriptions will be terminated 10/15/01. Valise goes to the great bit bucket in the sky 11/15/01. :(

This is a real shame. This was one of the very first of the web email services, begun way back in 1996. The manager, Gary, really fought hard to perservere through changing times, and he was able to survive just about everything except the curse of the email world -- spammers. According to the really heartbreaking "I'm giving up!" notice on the Valise website, approximately 95% of the mail passing through his system is from spam and list-servers. It's sad to see him go under because he was a real fighter.
