Pearl City, for access to amazing beaches.

Paris, France or Paris, Virginia, US

Bamb0 28 May 2022 05:09 PM

Paris France - No reason

Quebec or Nova Scotia?

ioneja 29 May 2022 08:06 PM

Nova Scotia, for access to amazing beaches.

Seoul, South Korea or Bali, Indonesia

Bamb0 30 May 2022 04:22 PM

Bali Indonesia (Sounds interesting)

Alaska or Guam??

ioneja 2 Jun 2022 10:57 PM

Guam, because of the easternmost time zone of inhabited US territory (odd, I know, but interesting little fact)

Gravensteen, Belgium or Aljaferia, Spain?

Bamb0 3 Jun 2022 05:04 AM

Gravensteen Belgium I suppose.....

Bangkok or Midrid? (I hope I spelled those right)

I sense a trend here.

Back to the game:

Bangkok. It's more affordable. I'm wondering if I sold all my stuff now, could I retire there?

Kingston, Jamaica or Kingston, Ontario

ioneja 12 Jun 2022 02:56 AM

Kingston, Jamaica, for access to amazing beaches.... :p

Bat Cave, North Carolina or Booger Hole, West Virginia? (BTW, those are actually real places!)

Bamb0 13 Jun 2022 03:22 PM

Hehe I think I would rather live in Bat Cave :D

Moon or mars?

ioneja 13 Jun 2022 09:31 PM

Mars, no question, gravity ratio is better (about 16.6% of Earth weight on the moon vs about 38% of Earth weight on Mars.... better for human biology/health long-term)

São Paulo or Buenos Aires?

Mexico or New Mexico?

As someone who always had the secret dream of living in Israel, I'd "warn" you that Jerusalem is a quite religious city and mainly interesting to spend days in as a tourist (because it is a unique city with an incredibly rich history), but that Tel-Aviv is by far the most relaxed and liberal city in Israel (and probably in the entire Middle East, maybe only Beirut is anywhere near), not to mention its numerous beaches and almost year-round good weather...

Anyways, living in Israel is a dream I almost gave up, as a non-Jew I cannot make aliyah, and work permits are extremely hard to get when you don't have exceptional skills that are rare amongst both locals and those ready to make aliyah. So I guess I'll be happy with spending time in Israel as a traveler. :)

Visiting Alert is a lifelong dream of mine  But it requires special permits from the Canadian government to my knowledge, as this is a weather station rather than a regular settlement. The northernmost regular village (and thus one you can enter without any special permit) is either Ny-Alesund on Svalbard, Siorapaluk in Greenland, or Grise Fiord in Canada. Further north, there's only military outposts and weather stations.

As for the game: Sao Paulo. I love warm weather, and Brazil seems to be a great place. I've met numerous Brazilian expats in Europe, and all of them were extremely friendly. Brazilians seem to have a real quality of knowing how to enjoy life and making the most of life, no matter what situation they're in.

Next one, I'll stick to places with year-round summers:

Havana, Cuba... or Tenerife, Canary Islands?

ioneja 20 Jun 2022 08:41 AM

Havana for the music. Simple as that.

Nærøyfjord or Misty Fjords?

Tsunami 21 Jun 2022 03:46 AM

Naeroeyfjord, because I find Norway such a fascinating country. I'm more attracted to the North of Norway, but I guess from Naeroeyfjord you can navigate to the furthest outskirts of the country.

Next one...
Hong Kong, or Macau?

Bamb0 21 Jun 2022 04:41 PM

Hong Kong

Mexico or Peru?

sterdeus 24 Jul 2022 11:08 AM

Mexico. I haven't been to either but Mexico seemed like a logic choice.

Christmas Island or Norfolk Island
